Funny thing happened a few months back, which I never really reported on my blog. I had an issue where my favorite coffee maker stopped producing any hot water.
I did a little detective work to try to save this 1.25 year old appliance (1 year warranty). Turns out other people have had the same issue. By the listing of amazon people mentioning it "broke" you can see something is problematic with the machine.
It turns out that Krups used some very cheap fuses for the Krups KM7000 coffee maker. I found Mark S. Kolich's blog entry and was able to revive my glorious machine thanks to his in depth instructions. Thanks Mark!
The only things I did differently were to use a standard Phillips head to get the triangular screw out of my machine and replacing the screw with a standard Phillips head screw after getting it out. I was able to find the needed fuses at Fry's. I just brought in the old one's and matched the markings/ratings up to the ones in the store, cost next to nothing.
This coffee maker really does make some of the best coffee, to bad they had to go cheap on the parts.
